Take one white mattress cover . . .


. . . wash it, tumble-dry it, and put it over the back of a chair to finish drying and air out.

What happens next - at least, in this household?

Why, it grows a cat, of course!




Ashbutt regards any laundry temporarily placed on or draped over furniture - particularly if it's still warm from the dryer - as his personal nesting place, and gets quite indignant if we try to remove him from it.  "But I saw it first!  I claim it!  It's MINE, dammit!"

Just so you know - dark fabrics attract white cats equally well..

Yeah, cats are like that. Fresh cleaned laundry seems to attract them from the farthest corners of the house. That and computer keyboards - they just love walking all over those.
